WIT
Wollega Institute of Technology (WIT) is committed to excellence in teaching, applied research, innovation, and technology development. The Institute prepares students for professional careers by equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills needed to address real-world challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
INDMET
WIT, in collaboration with Jimma University and the University of Stavanger, Norway, participates in the Institutional Network for Design and Manufacturing Education and Training (INDMET) project. The project is funded through the NORHED II, supported by the NORAD.
Programs
WIT was established in 2008 G.C. (2000 E.C.) as the College of Engineering and Technology and has since been upgraded to an institute. Currently, the Institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs through different academic departments, with study options available in regular, evening, and weekend modalities.
Active Projects
A collaborative project called INDMET (“Institutional Network for Design and Manufacturing Education & Training”) granted for fund under NORAD through NORHED-II. University of Stavanger, Wollega University & Jimma University are project partners.
Admission
WIT manages admission and registration for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Continuing students are required to register for courses each semester according to the academic calendar and the Institute’s registration procedures. Admission and registration services are coordinated through the responsible offices.

WIT and the Linnaeus-Palme of Sweden Government supported Partnership Orebro University of Sweden made collaboration for postgraduate program under Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning. The overall purpose of the project is by mutual shared experiences and knowledge in higher education of urban and regional planning to nurture and accomplishes the increased capacity to deal with sustainability issues in Ethiopia and Sweden.
