Engineering and Technology College Departments

WU, Engineering & Technology College has been established in 2008 G.C (2000 E.C). Currently, the college is enrolling undergraduate and postgraduate students under 12 departments. Those students will be enrolled as Regular, Evening and Weekend programs.

Architecture

Architecture is acknowledged as an independent profession with in the context of the built environment.

Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering concerns the study of conception, design, construction and maintenance of large public and private projects. Civil engineers build and maintain bridges, highways, railways, tunnels, airports, dams, water treatment and distribution systems and large buildings, along with many other structures.

Computer Science

The primary objective of the program is to produce a high quality graduate with an entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset.

CoTM

The objective of the program is to encourage young and talented minds to enhance their knowledge base in the new areas of soil and rock engineering so as to carry out research, design, develop and manage structures in the soft and hard rock regions.

Electrical & Computer Engineering

Electrical & Computer Engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the technology of electricity, especially the design and application of electronic circuits, equipment for power generation and distribution, machine control, and communications and computer hardware and software.

Food Engineering

The Food Engineering Program aims to train autonomous professionals with the values and professional competencies to apply Scientific, Technological and Engineering knowledge to design industrial food processes, upgrade existing classical production methods, develop food products, design and manage quality systems from the perspective of sustainable social development.

Hydraulic & Water Resource Engineering

Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering is a study field that deals with collecting and distributing water where and when it’s needed, while protecting the population, industry, environment, infrastructure from harmful excessive water.

Information Science

The Information Science program provides professional education with a wide variety of service and management careers in information agencies, the information industry, and in business, industry, government, research, and similar environments where information is a vital resource.

Information Technology

The main aim of the program is to produce high quality IT graduates with entrepreneur and problem solving mind set by providing to the students a broad knowledge and skill in information technology management and configuration and maintenance of ICT infrastructures.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering is a profession that deals with the design, manufacturing, selection, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of all forms of machinery, equipment, and industrial systems.

Surveying Engineering

Aim of the program is to bring about change in the field of Surveying through the development of practice-oriented education, research and producing surveying Engineers who will contribute to the country’s social and economic development and substantially reduce poverty.

Urban & Regional Planning

The general objective of the program is to train Urban and Regional Planners equipped with conceptual and practical knowledge and skill to carry out regional and urban development activities including preparations of Action, Strategic, Structural, Local Development Plans (LDP) and other statutory Urban and Regional Development Plans.
