Department of Construction Technology & Management
Construction Technology and Management (CoTM) Department emerged on 2002 after three years when the University was established in 1999 E.C. Since then, the department consistently supplying the market with some of the best construction technology and management professionals who are now engaged in various businesses, industrial, educational and research sectors in the nation.
CoTM deals with construction materials including cement, Aggregates, soil, rock, and water. As most engineering projects are supported by ground, Construction Technology and Management interface with most of the other civil sub-disciplines. For example, construction engineers prepare the plans and quantities of each item of buildings, roads, dams and special structures.

Vision of the Department
Construction Technology and Management department shall become a model department in the country which emphasizes economic development and department-enterprise cooperation, and model for excellence in teaching, learning and applied research to play a leading role in building of the nation.

- To conduct and foster creative research by addressing the needs of industry, government and the scientific community, and To render consultancy services to the community.
Objective of the Department
General Objective
The primary objectives of Graduate program is to train high level professionals capable of solving practical engineering problems in the various fields of studies independently and develop in the process the research experience of the staff members of the department. Objectives behind the program is to encourage young and talented minds to enhance their knowledge base in the new areas of soil and rock engineering so as to carry out research, design, develop and manage structures in the soft and hard rock regions.
Admission Requirements
As per the Ethiopian Ministry of Education guidelines and requirements. The candidates should successfully complete the preparatory programme and pass an entrance examination given by the department/institute.
