Engineering & Technology College, Continuing and Distance Education Program (CDEP)

Engineering and Technology College, CDEP Coordinator Office provides opportunities of human resources development for the industries or sectors found in the regional areas as well as national in Engineering and Technology field of studies. CDEP helps to enhance various government or non-government sectors academic development, research, and scholarly activities and become a center of excellence for its programs. The CDEP Coordinator Office works in collaboration with each department, Quality Associate Dean and Associate Registrar to excel in teaching, and research at a national level as well as regionally in the nation’s socio‐economic development. Continuing and Distance Education office work hard and expand access to post‐secondary education on Extension programs in the evening/weekend/summer and winter modality.

The ETC Continuing and Distance Education Program Coordinator shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop policies and guidelines and frameworks to ensure the implementation of continuing and distance education programs by each department in the college,
  • Review and co-ordinate the various continuing and distance education programs offered at different centers and supervise irregularities to ensure that course offerings are in accordance with proper academic standards,
  • Monitor and oversee the process of appointment of instructors for continuing education programs as per the legislation and applicable laws,
  • Work towards enabling the ETC Continuing and Distance Education Program  to become self-supporting,
  • prepare a strategic plan for continuing and distance education program of the University belongs to ETC by identifying the educational needs of the public and facilitate the launching of the programs,
  • Advise and Assist the Continuing and Distance Education in exploring the feasibility of expanding the continuing education programs to different woreda based on demand of our society,
  • Supervise the programs, facilitate the payment process and submit financial reports to the University level CDEP.
