TVET Teachers and Industry Engineers Summer Training
Eighteen TVET teachers and industry engineers from fourteen different institutions participated in the training, marking a significant collaborative effort to enhance technical and vocational education. For the TVET teachers, the training offered the opportunity to update their curriculum with modern industry practices, ensuring that their students receive education aligned with current technological advancements. The teachers can now introduce more practical, hands-on elements into their teaching, which is expected to produce graduates better equipped for the workforce.
For the industry engineers, the training provided a valuable opportunity to enhance their practical skills in emerging technologies such as CAD/CAM, CNC Programming, and 3D Printing. By gaining proficiency in these areas, the engineers are better prepared to implement advanced manufacturing processes in their respective industries, leading to increased efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in the market.
Joint PhD Teaching Progress Evaluation (WU and UiS)
Another significant aspect of the summer workshop was the Joint PhD Teaching Progress Evaluation, conducted in collaboration between Wallaga University (WU) and the University of Stavanger (UiS). Two PhD candidates admitted in the second round defended their proposals during the workshop. Additionally, the progress of first-round PhD candidates was evaluated, ensuring that they are on the right path in their research endeavors. Furthermore, one staff member from the School of Mechanical Engineering was admitted to the third round of PhD admissions.
NORSTIP: MSc Scholarship
The progress of the NORSTIP scholarship program remains ongoing, demonstrating the continued efforts of both institutions to support higher education and research initiatives.
