Maintenance of Old and Malfunctioning Computers is underway by College of Engineering and Technology
Old and malfunctioning computers maintenance work is underway by college of engineering and technology staff members.
The staff members identified old and malfunctioning desktop computers in different departments’ laboratories and started troubleshooting them. This laboratory equipment’s maintenance work is organized and supported by Institutional Network for Design & Manufacturing Education and Training (INDMET) project office at Wallaga University, College of Engineering and Technology.
The main objective of this maintenance work is to fix and maintain identified malfunctioning desktop computers in the college’s laboratories. The maintenance work is underway in collaboration with the INDMET Project office.
The Maintenance Work Team identified 101 old and malfunctioning desktop computers which stopped working because of both software and hardware failures. In addition, the performance of some computers is very slow because they are attacked by viruses and malware and require updates (both system software and application software).
So far, 59 desktop computers are ready for use while the maintenance of other computers is still underway.
