The training workshop on the title “Lab for Skill” organized by Institutional Network for Design and Manufacturing Education and Training (INDMET) in collaboration with College of Engineering and Technology (CET) for the CET lab technicians and Lab attendants that has been conducted for the last two days from February 02 to 03 of 2023 was successfully completed.
The trainers, namely Dr. Endalkachew Mosisa, Dean of college of CET & INDMET Project Coordinator, Mr. Wakgari Dibaba, and Mr. Dereje Sufa have successively delivered brief and constructive presentations on the day one of the training program which mainly focused on three basic issues regarding lab technicians and lab attendants; duties and responsibilities, essential skills & attitudes , and major challenges & mitigation mechanisms.
Alongside the brief presentations, the trainers have provided a brief and short checklist for each participant to use it during their visit to their respective Lab and to make a reflection on their experiences in addressing their duties and responsibilities to the extent highlighted in the training session. Accordingly, the participants have made in-depth discussions within teams organized, and have made reflections of their experiences and views in line with the major issues addressed in the training material and in the checklist prepared for the purpose. During the discussions and reflection sessions of the second day, participants have sincerely highlighted about the importance of the training and discussions made as they have got lots of experiences, view points and lessons for their future career in addressing their roles and responsibilities.
The training workshop concluded with the closing speech of Dr. Melka Hika, Academic Affairs Vice President of Wollega University. Dr. Melka Hika, after owing thanks to the college and those involved in organizing such training program, he highlighted the great significance of such programs for strengthening knowledge, skills and attitudes of the employee.
