ETC Awarded Top 3 Model Exit Exam Scorers

ETC (Engineering and Technology College) awarded top 3 scorers of model exit exam and top 3 female scorers from each batch on training occasions prepared for female students of Engineering and Technology College.

The college awarded the students of Engineering and Technology College on occasions of a training prepared for Female Students of ETC. The college awarded 3 highest female scorers of each batch and top 3 Scorers in Model Exit Exam as a Engineering and Technology College.

The College of Engineering and Technology reviewed the status model Exit exam conducted from May 22, 2023 to May 26, 2023 by using a cloud-based E-Learning System developed for the INDMET project. Following the administration of the exam, the overall students’ status report was generated and evaluated by the college’s academic commission. The result believed to identify major activities which need priority within the remaining time. According to the college dean, Endalkachew Mosisa (PhD), The top scorers of female students and top scorers of model exit exam were awarded with cash prizes.

The awards have been given by Engineering and Technology Dean and INDMET project coordinator at WU, Endalkachew Mosisa (PhD) and Margitu Debela (PhD) former gender affairs directorate director office of Wallaga University. Margitu Debela (PhD) advised female students focusing on self-confidence development and encouraged them to do more on national exit exam. Endalkachew Mosisa (PhD), dean of the college stated that the award is very important in encouraging students and to motivate the students prepare themselves in the remaining time to score good results in the coming Exit Exam.

On the other hand, a training on “Empowering Females in Engineering” was given for female students of Engineering and Technology college on 16th June 2023. The training was organized and supported by the INDMET project office. Margitu Debela (PhD), warmly welcomed all trainees and delivered the opening speech by describing the training objectives.

Ms. Tigist Tadesse, Engineering and Technology College staff has presented on “University Life and Effect of Social Media on Female Students”. She conducted a short training for female students by highlighting the effects of social media on students’ performance in their academic study. Some students highlighted the importance of such training and encouragement from the college as they are the first batch to sit for national exit exam. They students expressed that they got an overview on how to study and prepare themselves for examinations, and how to use social media effectively for educational purposes. Correspondingly, Ms. Meskerem Deresse, Engineering and Technology College staff trained the students on “The Role of Affirmative Action on Female Students Performance”. In the training session, the role of affirmative action in promoting diversity, and eliminating socio-economic differences was discussed.

Student Bontu Gemechu, top female scorer from department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (5th year) also shared her experience with the other female students on how she achieved high academic performance. At the end of the training, top 3 Scorers of Model Exit Exam and top 3 Female Scorers from each batch from Engineering and Technology College were awarded with cash prizes.
