A proposal to establish Center of Excellence on ”Manufacturing and Agro-Based Industries (MABI)” has been presented by CET (College of Engineering and Technology) for discussion aiming at obtaining constructive feedback and comments from highly celebrated scholars such as Prof. Hirpha Lemu from Stanvanger University of Norway, researchers, and the University management.
The center will have a mission of conducting research, develop advanced technologies and build capacity on manufacturing and agro-based industry with the ultimate goal of making Wallaga University more competitive in technology transfer, capacity building, new innovation, and new entrepreneurship.
The proposed center of excellence (MABI) meant to fill the gap for skilled Manufacturing, Agro-Industry and food engineers through long term and short term education, trainings, and problem solving high level research works. The Proposed MABI of Wallaga University has good bases for different infrastructure and human capacity to carry out the MABI for national, regional students and local students.
Valuable comments and constructive feedback were obtained from the audience to further enrich the proposed document before its implementation.
