The Institutional Network for Design & Manufacturing Education and Training (INDMET) Project, in collaboration with the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), successfully completed a three-day capacity-building training workshop on “University of Applied Science (UAS) Curriculum Development and Curriculum Review”. Supported by Norway through the NORHED II, the training aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in curriculum planning, development, and review while fostering a deeper understanding of the UAS model.
The training objective was to provide participants with the tools to design and review industry-aligned curricula that integrate academic and practical skills. It featured expert-led sessions, interactive activities, and group discussions, ensuring active engagement and practical application of the concepts.
The training workshop successfully achieved its objectives by enabling participants to develop a solid understanding of curriculum development frameworks and help gain practical knowledge of UAS principles and characteristics.
The workshop was concluded with remarks from Dr. Ginbar Ensermu, Dean of College of Engineering and Technology (CET), who highlighted the importance of applying UAS principles to enhance academic programs. The INDMET Project thanked all facilitators, organizers, and participants for their dedication to the success of this workshop and underscored that the event marks another milestone in fostering innovative, industry-relevant education through the UAS model.
