Wallaga University, College of Engineering and Technology (CET) and INDMET Project office are jointly establishing a Flexible Manufacturing Laboratory (small scale) for educational purposes that promotes innovation and creativity skills within a new product development approach supported by 3D printing. To realize this, INDMET project office selected and purchased CNC milling and 3D printers considering them as the highest priorities.
As a part of project implementation, Wallaga University also took the initiative to purchase machines like CNC Lathe Machine, Industrial Robot and 3D Scanner. The lab will be used as maker space for manufacturing engineering in the transformation process to applied University.
The education part of the project continued producing workforces at different educational levels within design and manufacturing education. So far, eighteen (18) MSc students and three (3) PhD candidates have been granted scholarships.
