A Teaining Workshop on ”Additive and Subtractive Prototyping that focuses on 3D Modelling, 3D Printing and CNC” that has been underway from 29 August to 02 September, 2023 in College of Engineering and Technology (CET) was successfully completed.
The training Workshop was organized by College of Engineering and Technology in Collaboration with Institutional Network for Design & Manufacturing Education and Training (INDMET) based on the project‘s objective with regard a training to TVET Teachers and Industry Engineers. Accordingly, about 20 members from 13 different TVET Colleges and Industries have participated on the training workshop.
Participants of the training workshop have indicated, in their feedback, that they have really gained much out of the five days training workshop in terms of the technical knowledge and practical skills on the identified areas with the support of the latest technologies and modelling tools, lectures, and demonstrations provided. They have owed special thanks to the college and to the organizing team for such collaborative effort while at the same time they have indicated that such programs need to be strengthened and showed interest for similar and continued trainings in the future as well. Moreover, they have stated the relevance and timeliness of such topics for which they commented that it is better to consider relatively longer training days in the future for such programs.
Dr. Endalkachew Mosisa, Dean of CET and INDMET Project Coordinator at Wallaga University, has stated in his concluding remarks, that the participants of the training workshop need to observe possible ways of furthering and applying the technical knowledge, skills and experiences shared during the workshop in their context, and to put their utmost efforts to work together in a number of future careers.
The training workshop was concluded with the closing speech by Mr. Zelalem Dessalegn, University-Industry Linkage Directorate Director of the University. Mr. Zelalem has underscored on the key importance of such training as it was basic inputs and start-up for further explorations and in depth analysis on the areas through all possible means such as intent resources, professional networks, and others. “Such collaboration efforts are no longer considered as matter of choice rather they are becoming mandatory for both institutions and professionals, now days, for which we have to work together with more commitment than ever” , remarked by Mr. Zelalem.
Finally, the participants have been given certificates of participation at the end of the training workshop.
