Training on “Early-Stage Guidance for Female Students” was given for Female Students of Grade 12 Dalo Secondary School on 28th April 2023. The training was organized and supported by the INDMET project office.
Ms. Tigist Tadesse, Engineering and Technology College staff has presented on “Female Students, Entrance Exam and Social Media”. She conducted a short training for female students by highlighting the effects of social media on students’ performance in their study for entrance examinations. Students also got an overview on how to study and prepare themselves for entrance examinations, and how to use social media effectively for educational purposes.
Similarly, Ms. Meskerem Deresse, Engineering and Technology College staff trained students on “Female Students and University”. She encouraged students to study hard to join a university and gave an overview of university life.
Later on, Engineering and Technology College Dean and INDMET project coordinator at WU, Dr. Endalkachew Mosisa briefed the importance of such training and advised female students to compete with males in their future education despite the external challenges.
Dr. Halima (Wallaga University Gender Affairs Directorate Director), gave a short presentation on “Life Skill Trainning” by focusing on how female students develop their self-awareness, self-esteem, and self confidence.
At the end of the training, top five scorers of female students from grade 12 natural science were awarded with cash prizes. The training program was concluded with the appreciation of the school director for the professional concern shown from the training organizer and trainers.
