INDMET (Institutional Network for Design and Manufacturing Education & Training) project is a 6-year partnership project between Faculty of Science and Technology of University of Stavanger (UiS) in Norway, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Jimma Institute of Technology (JiT) in Jimma University (JU) and Engineering and Technology College at Wollega University (WU) in Ethiopia. The main reason for choice of partners in this project is the existing and sustained collaborations between the institutions. Cooperation between University of Stavanger (UiS) in Norway and Jimma University (JU) and Wollega University (WU) in Ethiopia existed more than ten years. These cooperation’s were initiated with main objective of promoting institutional links in teaching and research in the field of Engineering, and provide scholarship for MSc students through the then existed Quota Program. As a result, JU and WU signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Stavanger, Faculty of Science and Technology, in 2011 and 2008 respectively.
